Visiting https://mydomain.com Redirects to https://www.gitpod.io/

Something definitely isn’t right here, when I visit the root domain of my self hosted instance - https://mydomain.com it redirects to https://www.gitpod.io/. This is the 3rd or 4th self hosted instance I’ve setup where it’s done this. I can try to dig into where it’s coming from but I figured the Gitpod team would be more familiar with it then I.

Thanks,

Sorry you are having this issue try going to <yourdomain.com>/workspaces

Hi @JesterOrNot!

Yeah, sorry, I should have mentioned that. Going to /workspaces does allow me to use the instance. I assume there’s a case in to get this fixed?

Thanks!

Yea I’ve had this issue while experimenting on EKS, try having it login. That fixed the problem for me. @meysholdt Can you possibly shed some light on this?

Bump! I can confirm this is still happening when you’re not logged in. When logged in you’re forwarded to /workspaces.

Same here.

Hi all,

This is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release. By now, you always has to open the domain with the /workspaces prefix like this: https://your.domain.example.com/workspaces.

Thanks for your patience.

Cornelius

I think you can add index.html code on yourdomain.com and use it to redirect to yourdomain.com/workspaces.

It looks like this is still not resolved. Any ETA? It’s been quite a while! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

This is fixed in version 0.5.0. You could check which version you have installed with your-gitpod-domain.com/api/version
