How do I increase the proxy logging level?

Hi, I am getting a connection timeout whenever I try to access my self-hosted install. I don’t even see any connection attempts in the nginx proxy.

  • I am using Wireguard (should not be an issue) to access an internal IP address
  • DNS is fine
  • the pods are up and running
  • I tried disabling network policies
  • I have other services running via LoadBalancer with no issues (Pihole for ex.; my CNI is cilium and I use metallb as loadbalancer).

In order to debug this, how can I edit the chart/config/proxy to be provide me with a more verbose log?

Hi @cyrilcros,

hm, hard to tell what#s wrong because you seem to have a quite complex setup and it’s not clear to me how that is connected.

Wireguard

I guess your using Wireguard to connect into the network your kubernetes cluster runs into

DNS is fine

Internal DNS? That points to what?

the pods are up and running

I’d recommed to “mount” a test-pod behind the proxy svc instead of the actual proxy pods. (edit the spec.selector): sth that just says “I’m there”, do the debug the “outward-facing” chain.
